Breeders Cup

Breeders Cup

Breeders CupSince the very first running at Hollywood Park in 1984, the Breeders' Cup has established itself as the season-ending championship of Thoroughbred racing, not only in the USA but also much of the racing world. With each Breeders' Cup race worth $500,000 and up to $5,000,000, the two day racing extravaganza has become a magnet for the some of the best horses in the world.

2008 saw tremendous European success, particularly from trainer John Gosden, who trained Ravens Pass the winner of the feature the Breeders Cup Classic worth over $5 million. Other European winners at the 2008 event were Goldikova, trained by Freddie Head and Donatavium also from the John Gosden stable.
